NZALT Standard-Curriculum Alignment for Languages and Latin
Adele Scott, the President of NZALT asks all the language teachers to give feedback on the draft matrices for NCEA Levels 1, 2, 3. Please read her message below and give your feedback on line. Dear Languages Teachers, The Languages Experts nominated by the specific languages associations, along with the project managers are very pleased to bring you the draft matrices for NCEA levels 1,2,3 (along with a rationale for decisions made) aligned with levels 5/6 and 7/8 of the New Zealand Curriculum for Learning Languages. Please go to the NZALT website (www.nzalt.org.nz) for background information, relevant documents AND to access brief questionnaires. There are two online questionnaires for you to give feedback on the draft matrices. There is one questionnaire relating to the draft matrix for Latin and another for the draft matrix for Learning Languages (other than Māori or English). Once you have examined the documents, you are invited to choose the appropriate questionnaire relevant to the language(s) you teach. Please respond to this initial questionnaire by 20th January. We will then consider the feedback to the draft matrices as we make amendments to the Draft Achievement Standards and you will have a further opportunity to provide feedback on the draft matrices AND the draft standards (including AME criteria, definitions etc). NZALT prides itself on providing quality communication to its members alongside integrating educational excellence within all products and services developed. We look forward to your feedback.
